 This Is What You’ll Do

This position is critical in supporting all facets of operational accounting (GL, AP, AR, payroll, invoicing, and reconciliations) to include preparation of the monthly financial package (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, Cash Flow, etc.). On an annual basis, responsibilities include Incurred Cost Submission preparation, W-2’s, 1099 preparation, and assisting with year-end financial statements. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

This is What We’re Looking For

  • Performs day-to-day financial activities and general accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, benefits, reconciliations, and budget preparation. Serves as the primary contact for vendors and customers. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Prepare/review complex reconciliations for necessary balance sheet accounts and various other general ledger accounts.
  • Develops and maintains an understanding of the accounting operations within each assigned client and obtains a working knowledge of accounting software.
  • Assists external auditors and tax accountants with preparing schedules, explaining supporting documents and procedures, and preparing additional data.
  • Assists in the preparation of the year-end W-2’s and 1099’s.


 Associate’s degree in accounting or related field.

  • Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports.
  • Demonstrated experience as a self-starter with a record of effectively taking initiative.
  • Advanced proficiency with automated accounting systems.
  • Experience processing Payroll.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • A team player with effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to build trust internally and externally.
  • +5 years Accounting/Finance experience in a business setting

Preferred Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Familiar and adaptable to accounting and financial software systems.
  • Strong understanding of Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government contracting. DCAA knowledge is helpful.
  • Advanced understanding of general and subsidiary ledgers and financial statements.
